Meet Ashley
Survivor. Mother. Advocate. Here because I know exactly how you feel.
Hi, I'm Ashley. My path to motherhood was anything but simple.
After one round of IVF, my daughter was conceived. What followed was a pregnancy that tested everything. At 36 weeks, preeclampsia made the call.
My daughter was delivered, and then suddenly the room shifted. I was put under before I ever got to meet her. In recovery I would learn that I had lost half my blood volume, that a massive transfusion protocol had been activated, I had undergone a partial hysterectomy, and been diagnosed with placenta accreta, later confirmed by pathology. Seventy-two hours later we went home as a family of three.
The care team that got us through it was extraordinary. But then came everything after.
Watching my daughter grow with equal parts joy and grief. Reading through medical notes repeatedly, searching for understanding. My background in healthcare meant I could read those notes but it did not make navigating the aftermath any easier.
Eventually those feelings led me to start a podcast. One that is all about the unexpected in pregnancy and motherhood, the things we don't always say aloud. Through it, a pattern emerged. Women lost after accreta. Women with referrals that simply did not fit. The support gap was real and consistent.
I understand this two ways: as a survivor, and from years working inside the system that treated me. That's what After Accreta Co. is built on —real navigation to the support that actually fits.
I also serve as a maternal mortality and morbidity advocate through Mammas Voices. Outside of this work, you'll find me with a coffee, a good book, and my husband and daughter close by.
